The vision of the Bob Harding Shawmut Elementary School Library is for students to become life-long readers and information seekers with access to print and digital resources.

First and second grade students may check out one book at a time. Kindergarten students may check out one book at a time. Books are due one week after check out. There are no late fees. There will be a charge for replacing lost or damaged books. Teachers may check out books and DVD's. The library has new digital books available for teachers and students to use. The library is used as a center rotation by some classes, allowing small groups of students from the classroom to visit the library independently.

THE LIBRARY COLLECTION CURRENTLY CONSISTS OF NEARLY 6,000 ITEMS. THIS NUMBER INCLUDES BOOKS, DIGITAL BOOKS, AND AUDIOVISUAL MATERIALS.
