About Dr. Rachel...
Dr. Yolandria Rachel
Dr. Yolandria Rachel is a dedicated and passionate educator with 17 years of experience in education, including 15 years in Chambers County Schools. A native of Roanoke Alabama, she is the proud mother of five young men whose ages range from 19 to 29, and a grandmother to a 17-month-old granddaughter. She has been happily married to her husband, Quenton Rachel, and recently celebrated their 28th anniversary. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family.
Dr. Rachel holds a PhD in Special Education and Rehabilitation, a Master's in Special Education Collaborative Teacher K-12, and a Master's in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) all from Auburn University. She is currently pursuing certification as an Academic Language Therapist (CALT) through Neuhaus and the Alabama State Department, committed to advancing her expertise in language and literacy intervention. Her professional journey is marked by a deep dedication to supporting students, parents, and the community.
As she transitions to the role of a reading coach, Dr. Rachel brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience to this new position. Her dedication to fostering positive learning environments and driving academic success remains unwavering. In her new role, she is eager to support teachers and students by providing guidance in literacy instruction, implementing effective reading programs, and promoting a culture of literacy within the school community.
Dr. Rachel extends her gratitude for being welcomed into the BHS Tribe. She is excited to join this vibrant community and looks forward to contributing to their shared success.


💜💛Introducing our NEW Tribe! 💛💜 We are very excited to welcome Mrs. Janice Carnley as our new counselor! A little bit about Mrs. Carnley... Janice Askew Carnley is a native of Chambers County and attended Chambers County School System. She taught in Dekalb County, GA and Clayton County, GA for a total of 20 years. After the pandemic, Mrs. Carnley returned back to her hometown to care for her loving mother and sister. She immediately found her home again with Chambers County Schools. Mrs. Carnley has been a part of the Chambers County School District for 5 years now. Janice Carnley is married to Charles Carnley and is the mother of five children, one son-in-law, and a beautiful granddaughter. Mrs. Carnley has 25 years of educational experience. She attended Alabama State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Special Education. Later, Mrs. Carnley earned a master's degree from Alabama State in School Counseling. With love and dedication, Mrs. Carnley attended Troy State University and earned a specialist's degree in School Counseling. Mrs. Carnley is excited and proud to be a part of the Shawmut Elementary Tribe!

Students participating in Chambers Co Reading & Math Camps, Credit Recovery Program, Makerspace, and Race Camps during June will have breakfast and lunch provided by the Chambers Co CNP staff volunteers. The Summer Feeding program will be June 3- June 27, 2024 (Mon-Thu).
